Presenter Rules & Guidelines

Thinking about pitching?
Check out our process, requirements, and some examples for Pitch-A-Friend Oslo before you submit your request to pitch!

Pitch Sign Up Process:

  1. Submit the Pitch Application Form. The form is only a request to pitch, so you are not guaranteed a spot after submitting it. All shows are open to all genders, ages, and sexual orientations unless otherwise noted, so we also want variety among those who pitch. You will be notified fairly soon if you get a spot or if you are transferred to the wait list if spots in your segment are filled.
    • Each show has a limited number of spots that fill up fast so don't hesitate to register your interest if you want to pitch at one of the shows that are still available.
    • Fully booked shows are marked with (WAITLIST). The waiting list is only open for a limited time before pitch spots are completely closed. If you do not see an upcoming event listed below then the event is likely closed..
    • Spots for pitching straight women in particular sell out quickly, so some shows may be marked with (ONLY AVAILABLE FOR PITCHING MEN) or (/PITCHING SKEEVES) for example. Anyone who is not in that segment will then be transferred to the waiting list.
  2. Confirm and Pay for your Spot. If you get notification of an available spot, you must confirm it by paying the registration fee of NOK 600 to Pitch-A-Friend Oslo no later than three days from the time you receive notice. If delayed, the full line-up may already be filled and your spot might no longer be available. If this happens, you will be transferred to the WAITLIST. Your spot is only confirmed when you have both paid AND received a confirmation email from us.
    • The registration also includes entrance for you and the person you are pitching to the show. If there are two of you pitching, the third person must purchase a ticket as there are only two free tickets per pitch.
    • We receive a lot of registrations for many different shows, so please write your name and which show it applies to in the text field on the payment.
    • We want a full lineup at each show, so please let us know ASAP if you can no longer pitch so we can give your spot to them and they will have as much time as possible to prepare their presentation.
  3. Create and Share Your Pitch. Send us your presentation to oslo@pitch-a-friend.com no later than 24 hours before your event, but preferably well in advance! We have to be strict on the presentation deadline as there are many participants, presentations and much more that needs to be in place to put on a good show. If you have not sent us your presentation by the deadline, we may pass your spot on to someone from the waiting list and unfortunately will not refund your registration. We have not had to do this yet! When we get all the presentations on time, the event goes much smoother and is a much more positive experience for everyone - including those who organize it! ❤️
    • We ask everyone to create their presentations in Canva - a free online program with endless templates and options for creating a great presentation. If your presentation is created in another program, we ask you to upload it to Canva for us, but please note that some formatting may be lost in the transfer.
    • The show is in Norwegian unless otherwise specified, but you can of course pitch in English.

Pitch Requirements:

  1. Keep it positive! This is NOT a roast. This event is to promote friends in a positive and fun way with the goal of helping them make a new connection!
  2. Keep it Clean. Please refrain from including nudity or inappropriate imagery.
  3. Create your presentation in Canva. We ask everyone to create their presentations in Canva - a free online program with endless templates and options for creating a great presentation. If your presentation is created in another program, we ask you to upload it to Canva for us, but please note that some formatting may be lost in the transfer.
  4. Keep it between 3-5 minutes! Be imaginative, but aim to keep your "pitch" under 5 minutes. We recommend clearly stating the individual's preferred pronouns, sexual orientation, and age in the pitch.
  5. Make sure your last slide has the required information. The final slide should feature a picture of the person along with their contact information (Instagram, phone number, etc.). This slide will remain displayed between pitches and will also be put on autoplay with the rest of the featured singles during the mingling portion of the event.
  6. Both be in attendance! The person you are pitching to must be present at the show. This makes it more fun for everyone involved. The person you are pitching to must also be both informed and accept that they are being pitched. We also recommend that your friend come up on stage after the pitch and answer some playful get-to-know-you questions, but it is completely optional!
  7. Share your presentation on time. The deadline for sending us your presentation is 24 hours before the event, and we have to be strict here, so if we have not received your presentation by the deadline, we will give your place to someone from the waiting list, and unfortunately you will not receive a refund for your registration. It has not happened before, and we hope it never happens! If we get all the presentations on time, it will go as smoothly as possible and the show will be a great and positive experience for everyone - including us who organize it <3
  8. Notify us about changes in plans. If you are no longer able to pitch, we must have received and confirmed your cancellation no later than 1 week before the event in order for you to receive a refund of your registration.
